Boralex and Gaz Métro submit three bids for wind power projects

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

Boralex Inc. and Gaz Métro Limited Partnership (the "Consortium") have submitted three bids for wind power projects totalling 375.5 MW of capacity under Hydro-Québec's 2,000 MW wind power tender.

All located on the Seigneurie de Beaupré lands, owned by the Séminaire de Québec, the three wind farms are 103.3 MW, 132.6 MW and 139.3 MW respectively. Together with the Séminaire de Québec, the Consortium is proposing projects with virtually no visual, noise or environmental impacts. Moreover, the Seigneurie de Beaupré lands offer several advantages, including their proximity to TransÉnergie's interconnection lines and an exceptional wind energy deposit. In addition, the Seigneurie de Beaupré lands are far from any urban or residential areas.

The Consortium is also proud to be associated with wind turbine manufacturer Enercon, a company with world-renowned know-how that plans to set up a wind turbine component factory in Matane.
